This option offers last season’s equipment, but there is absolutely nothing wrong with the products. If you don’t mind not having the latest gear available, I recommend checking it out. REI always takes pride in the gear they sell.
Steep And Cheap
Steep and Cheap, owned by Backcountry, is one of the best places to find discounted outdoor products. Backcountry is my second favorite store for gear, right after REI, as they offer high-quality gear and clothing. Currently, I am interested in purchasing Patagonia’s last season Micro Puff at a 40% discount from the Steep and Cheap website. However, it is essential to stay vigilant for these good deals, as they are limited and frequently updated. There is no time for hesitation when making a purchase.
Walmart
While Walmart is not recognized for its outdoor gear, it presents an excellent opportunity to discover significantly reduced equipment. It should be mentioned that high-quality outdoor equipment or clothing from brands like Arcteryx, The North Face, or Big Agnes are not available. Instead, you can expect to come across equipment such as Coleman or Eureka Tents.
Amazon
Amazon is known as one of the top websites for finding online deals, especially when it comes to outdoor gear. They offer a wide range of products, including both high-quality and lower quality equipment. In fact, if you compare their prices to those of retailers like REI and Backcountry, you may find some great deals on excellent quality gear.
When considering shopping for outdoor gear, I advise caution when using Amazon. It is important to compare prices between Amazon, REI, and Backcountry before making a purchase. If the prices are similar across all three stores, my preference is to order from REI. This is because REI has an exceptional return policy and is a trustworthy company. Given my lack of trust in Amazon, it is crucial to always compare prices with REI.
